开始折腾photon的freebsd系统的vps

真可谓一波三折,开始photon里买的时候有freebsd9.0,控制面板里却没有系统。后来是发ticket,经过1天左右的时间才弄好。

装了半天,才弄明白lumanager不支持FreeBSD了,唉,只好用webmin了。

安装webmin

After installing Webmin for the first time you should perform the following
steps as root:

* Configure Webmin by running /usr/local/lib/webmin/setup.sh

* Add webmin_enable=”YES” to your /etc/rc.conf

* Start Webmin for the first time by running /usr/local/etc/rc.d/webmin start

The parameters requested by setup.sh may then be changed from within Webmin
itself.

安装好virtualmin

webmin一直没装成功,直接到/usr/local/lib/webmin 目录下,执行:

后面就是安装postgresql了:

minor revision (e.g. 7.3.x -> 7.4), a dump
and restore of all databases is
required. This is *NOT* done by the port!

For procedural languages and postgresql functions, please note that
you might have to update them when updating the server.

If you have many tables and many clients running, consider raising
kern.maxfiles using sysctl(8), or reconfigure your kernel
appropriately.

The port is set up to use autovacuum for new databases, but you might
also want to vacuum and perhaps backup your database regularly. There
is a periodic script, /usr/local/etc/periodic/daily/502.pgsql, that
you may find useful. You can use it to backup and perfom vacuum on all
databases nightly. Per default, it perfoms `vacuum analyze’. See the
script for instructions. For autovacuum settings, please review
~pgsql/data/postgresql.conf.

To allow many simultaneous connections to your PostgreSQL server, you
should raise the SystemV shared memory limits in your kernel. Here are
example values for allowing up to 180 clients (configurations in
postgresql.conf also needed, of course):

If you plan to access your PostgreSQL server using ODBC, please
consider running the SQL script /usr/local/share/postgresql/odbc.sql
to get the functions required for ODBC compliance.

Please note that if you use the rc script,
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/postgresql, to initialize the database, unicode
(UTF-8) will be used to store character data by default. Set
postgresql_initdb_flags or use login.conf settings described below to
alter this behaviour. See the start rc script for more info.

To set limits, environment stuff like locale and collation and other
things, you can set up a class in /etc/login.conf before initializing
the database. Add something similar to this to /etc/login.conf:

and run `cap_mkdb /etc/login.conf’.
Then add ‘postgresql_class=”postgres”‘ to /etc/rc.conf.

To initialize the database, run

/usr/local/etc/rc.d/postgresql initdb

You can then start PostgreSQL by running:

/usr/local/etc/rc.d/postgresql start

按照上面说的做,并按照virtualmin中的提示,帮模块找到网卡,virtualmin终于算开始有眉目了。

 

然后安装nginx,发现安装的时候有:

GOOGLE_PERFTOOLS  谷歌的一个优化模块!

在/etc/rc.conf文件中加入

启动:

实践:不管是用easy_install 还是pip install ,都失败:

看着正在安装中,中间应该把需要的比如numpy等也在自动安装了。

编译的真慢,洗澡去了。

洗完澡了,发现悲剧了,刚才装的是numpy….

中间操作的步骤:

到官网重新下了tar包,重新编译了2次,在一次失败后,删掉build目录里的临时文件,又安装了一次,这是大约在晚上11:30分左右做的事情。

凌晨1:58分,起来发现安装完成了:

dotcloud and cygwin

看pyramid的手册,发现有一篇文章是关于dotcloud的配置方法,进而看到了cygwin,近期一台vps到期,正愁没有一个好的linux环境呢,cygwin来的真及时。

安装cygwin并安装dotcloud环境。建议安装的时候加上vi.

Windows is not officially supported at this time. However, if you feel brave, here is how to get DotCloud running on Windows in less than one minute (not counting download times).

  1. Start the Cygwin Setup.
  2. Select default choices until you reach the package selection dialog.
  3. Enable the following packages:
    • net/openssh
    • net/rsync
    • devel/git
    • devel/mercurial
    • python/python (make sure it’s at least 2.6!)
    • web/wget
  4. After the installation, you should have a Cygwin icon on your desktop. Start it: you will get a command-line shell.
  5. Download easy_install:
    $ wget http://peak.telecommunity.com/dist/ez_setup.py
  6. Install it:
    $ python ez_setup.py
  7. You now have easy_install; let’s use it to install pip:
    $ easy_install pip
  8. Now install dotcloud:

于是执行crgwin的setup文件,安装openssh 。对了,我顺便把yum或者apt-get装上不是更好吗? 好像不行哦,没找到yum和apt-get的包。

发现dotcloud如果用习惯了,还是挺好用的。

比如从github找到某个项目:

1 安装python3

2 下载 distribute_setup.py

wget http://python-distribute.org/distribute_setup.py

3 运行该文件python3.2 distribute_setup.py ,得到easy_install-3.2文件。

4 python3.2 easy_install-3.2 virtualenv 安装1.8版本,得到virtualenv-3.2

5 virtualenv-3.2  –no-site-packages env

6 在虚拟env中,再安装pyramid

easy_install-3.2 pyramid

7 pcreate -s alchemy work

8 在work目录中,pserve development.ini ,应该显示6543端口ok!

当然也可以直接在网上下载最新的支持3.2版本的virtualenv,设置py3的环境。

在实际的使用中,7完成后,有时还要再多做几步才行:

7.1 cd work

7.2 pip install -e .

7.3 initialize_PyramidApp_db development.ini

如果上面步骤不行,则再多一项:

7.4 python setup.py  develop

Installing Distribute On Python 3

setuptools doesn’t work under Python 3. Instead, you can use distribute, which is a fork of setuptools that does work on Python 3. To install it, first downloaddistribute_setup.py then invoke it using the Python interpreter into which you want to install setuptools.

$ python3 distribute_setup.py

Once this command is invoked, distribute should be installed on your system. If the command fails due to permission errors, you may need to be the administrative user on your system to successfully invoke the script. To remediate this, you may need to do:

$ sudo python3 distribute_setup.py

Installing the virtualenv Package

Once you’ve got setuptools or distribute installed, you should install the virtualenv package. To install the virtualenv package into your setuptools-enabled Python interpreter, use the easy_install command.

$ easy_install virtualenv

This command should succeed, and tell you that the virtualenv package is now installed. If it fails due to permission errors, you may need to install it as your system’s administrative user. For example:

$ sudo easy_install virtualenv

10.16 补充:
freebsd 9.0下,pyramid在python3.2环境下安装成功。但是创建项目的时候报错:
OSError: Errno2 No such file or directory:'xxxx/python3.2/site-packages/pyramid-1.3.4-py3.2.egg/pyramid/scaffolds/alchemy'
另pyramid1.4a2版本我也测试了,同样报错。

linux系统端口进程

看了下自己的一台机器,内存占用很多。

Mem:    786432k total,   752496k used,    33936k free,

于是通过如下命令看哪些端口运行的哪些程序,

netstat -anpl

把暂时不用的postgresql先停掉了。

 

再用ps -ef,发现启动了很多测试用的python程序,干掉两个后,内存就空出来了

Mem: 786432k total, 549508k used, 236924k free, 0k buffers

 

然后把webmin启动: service webmin start
